Buyers' Favourites from our Autumn Collection

As the summer evenings start to draw in, we look ahead to Autumn and which pieces to invest in. With so much to choose from in our latest collection, we turned to our buyers for their favourite garments.

But before we reveal their favourites, we thought we should shine a little light on to all the hard work our brilliant team of buyers do before a garment reaches your wardrobe: they spend every waking minute (well almost) creating new styles and considering carefully the fit and shape of each garment, so that the end result is a piece that looks wonderful, is incredibly comfortable and flatters your figure. Led by our managing director Jane, our all-women buying team are focussed on developing the best product for you. Being women themselves, they understand we all like a little give in our waistbands, more room in our sleeves and tailoring that flatters and know that our figure changes over time.  If you should ever return a Cotswold garment (we can't imagine you would), they read every bit of feedback on the returns form to ensure they are taking all viewpoints, comments and suggestions into consideration. They then tweak and update style favourites using your feedback, resulting in a garment that is perfect in every way and will continue to become better and better over time, using your invaluable feedback on fit, style and colour.

So here they are:

"This fleece-lined jacket is great to take you through the seasons. It is lovely and soft, and very easy to put on. With its neutral colouring, it can go with lots of other things in you a wardrobe. A great autumnal piece."

Style tip: wear with jeans, over a jersey t-shirt for a relaxed, not to mention comfy ensemble.

"I love this wool scarf, inspired by autumnal leaves. Printed by a mill in Lake Como, with so many gorgeous seasonal colours onto a dark chocolate background, this will take you through the season."

Style tip: read our scarf style guide for ideas >

"Simple and versatile, this comfortable polo top can be worn on so many occasions, from exercising to walking the dog to relaxing around the house."

Style tip: layer over a plain long-sleeved top during cooler weather.

"The answer to those chilly autumn days is this beautiful textured coat, which features a lovely flecked tweed fabric with touches of wool and silk. Its simple tailoring is offset by the striking colour and statement buttons for a timeless look."

Style tip: the colourful flecks in this coat will complement many different hues in your wardrobe, so be brave and experiment with colour.

  1. I like the longline quilted coat LK655. Last year I was looking for a down coat to wear on a November trip to Iceland. I couldn't find one large enough to wear warm sweaters underneath. This one would have been perfect BUT it doesn't have a hood. Why not?

The fur collar tweed coat GE653 looks lovely and is the colour I am looking for, although I could do without the faux fur collar. I am disappointed that the fabric has so little wool in it.

    1. Hi Sheila, thank you for your informative comments. The faux fur collars are detachable on both of the coats, making them exceptionally versatile. If you are looking for warm coats with hoods, have you looked at our microfibre coats, in 2 lovely shades of violet (GE650) and spruce (GD650)? We've also passed your comments onto our buying team, which helps shape future collections.

  2. I like your coats but would like lighter colours and more traditional fabrics. Also I like dropped shoulders, or raglan sleeves better than fitted. I would love a brown/ecru herring bone tweed with with ecru stronger than the brown, I love this years coat with the detachable faux fur collar - almost my dream coat, so I will be purchasing. I also like the Scottish plaid short coat but not sure if the pattern is too bold for a 5' 2" lady?
