We are all feeling very patriotic here in the office this week. With thoughts of the much-anticipated birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby, we are all on the edge of our seats waiting for this historic moment to happen. It’s a wonderful reminder of the rich heritage and tradition we’re proud to be part of.
Other events that are coming up this month that make us proud to be British include the iconic Henley Royal Regatta, known for its elegant dress code and timeless charm, and the stunning Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, a celebration of British horticultural excellence. We are also eagerly watching Andy Murray in Wimbledon and hoping for continued success on the grass courts.
At Cotswold Collections, we are passionate about British heritage and craftsmanship. Our designers continually strive to use materials and produce garments here in the British Isles, supporting local artisans and traditional methods. In this blog, we are highlighting a few of our favourite completely British pieces that embody this commitment.
Our trellis silk scarf is hand-printed in Gloucestershire by our artisan partner, Beckford Silk. Each scarf is finished with a hand-rolled hem, showcasing exceptional attention to detail. You can read more about this process in our blog dedicated to Beckford Silk.
The traditional knife pleat skirt is both woven and made in Britain. The fabric comes from the renowned Scottish mill Peter MacArthur. Fully lined and sewn with pleats down to the hip, it’s perfect for the changing seasons.
Finally, our sky blue and vanilla tweed blazer is a quintessential piece of British fashion. Crafted from premium wool tweed, woven and made in Britain, it offers timeless elegance. Due to its quality, this garment should be dry-cleaned to maintain its luxurious look and feel.
