We recommend a trip to Winchcombe, a quaint village in the heart of the Cotswolds. Visit for chocolate box cottages, tranquil scenery and plenty to do both indoors and out.

What to wear: Packing for a weekend away is no mean feat but luckily for you we've done the hard work and selected this colour co-ordinated outfit.

Why have you chosen this outfit, you might ask? Well, we're glad you did! Here's why: the aubergine two-piece is made from a cupro-like fabric that has so many desirable properties. It has all the properties of cotton and then some; it is breathable and machine washable, as well as having a soft, silk-like handle. This fabric keeps on giving: it has a beautiful drape and better yet it will stay cool in summer and warm in winter. You need this in your wardrobe now!

Complement it with the delicately patterned print jumper, handmade Italian necklace and canvas & leather bag (providing lots of room to stash your shopping).

Absorb some local history:
Visit Snowshill Manor, a National Trust property that is only a 20 minute drive away. Take a look around and wonder at the rooms filled with beautiful and interesting objects from the eccentric collections of Charles Wade (opens from mid-March).

A well-earned beverage:
Relax in the cosy surroundings of The Lion Inn, a 15th century coaching inn that also welcomes dogs and serves up delicious food - perfect to fuel your way around the rest of Winchcombe.

A bite to eat:
For those of us who fancy a refreshing cup of tea and indulging in a slice of cake, there are plenty of independent cafes in Winchcombe, each with their own individual charms and within a short walking distance of each other, so take your pick!

For the adventurous:
The stunning Cotswold Way is a trail of over 100 miles. Obviously we don't recommend that you undertake this but rather the 5-6 mile sections of it that head north and south from Winchcombe, to either Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham or Wood Stanway and include sights such as picturesque ruins, dramatic hillsides and Sudeley Castle. If this isn't for you then there is a gentle path that follows the river through Winchcombe along a one mile circular route.

For a spot of shopping:
The tranquil streets of Winchcombe are filled with interesting shops, from antiques to haberdashery. Pleasantly while away the afternoon by popping into these independent shops.

Make sure you visit Sudeley Castle whilst you are here.

We hope we've inspired you to explore this lovely town!
