With spring fast approaching, make memories by travelling to Cambridge and chase away those gloomy winter days leaving you feeling refreshed. Join us in exploring somewhere new!

Explore Cambridge's historic sites

Cambridge is a small city surrounded by beautiful landmarks, historical sites and picturesque streets. Take a walk around the prestigious University of Cambridge dating back to the 12th century with 13 colleges, to view the incredible architecture.

One of our favourite sites to see is the wonderful and best-known King’s College, famous for its Gothic Chapel where you can see the world’s largest fan-vaulted ceiling, Ruben’s masterpiece (Adoration of the Magi) and stunning stained-glass windows. You can also see an exhibition of the history of the College.

St John’s is another Cambridge University college with beautiful grounds to wander around and includes the wonderful covered bridge of sighs named after the one in Venice. The bridge is best viewed on a punting tour on the River Cam where you can sit back and experience the eye-catching views of the picturesque Cambridge Backs, an area where some colleges, including the King’s College and St John’s of the University of Cambridge back onto the River Cam.

For a calm and relaxed feel, explore Cambridge University's botanic garden with 8,000 plant species from all over the world in 40 acres of beautiful gardens and glasshouses. Take a break from walking and relax in the garden café to enjoy freshly made food.

If you have more time to explore or if the weather conditions are poor, visit the Fitzwilliam Museum with free admission. This museum is one of Cambridge’s most remarkable landmarks where you can see famous collections of art and antiquities.
